The Nissan GT-R Base for 2009: Improving on 2008

One of the staples of the Coupe segment is the Nissan GT-R. In the previous model year released a brand new version of the GT-R with two versions: Base and Premium. Sales for the GT-R, especially the GT-R Base, were brisk during 2009 and 2010. The improved vehicle quality and the classic styling were responsible for the sales boost.

Nissan GT-R Engine Specs

The GT-R Base is equipped with a Nissan 3.8 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a Borg Warner 6-speed Transaxle. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Coupe arena.

The fuel system for the 2009 GT-R is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 12 gallons.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The GT-R has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The GT-R Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of seventeen in-city driving and twenty three when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was exceptional.

The 2009 model year was telling year for the Nissan GT-R. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Base version) meant that buyers had several options to choose from..
