The 2007 Honda S2000 Base was introduced to compete in the convertible market. The Base is a member of a series of one trim levels for the S2000 which include Base. The two-door car with its rear-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Honda. There is strong competition from vehicles from Infiniti.

Honda S2000 Engine Specs

The S2000 Base is equipped with a Honda 2.2 liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The VTEC engine is mated to a Honda 6-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Honda.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The S2000 has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

Conclusion

The 2006 model began the promise of the Honda S2000. The 2007 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Honda hopes that the S2000 Base will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
