There's been a lot of talk about the Infiniti G20 for 1996. As a leading car in the sedan market the G20 (and in this case specically the Base version) has maintained a high standard. Standard equipment in the G20 for 1995 and 1996 includes the 2.0 liter engine by Nissan, weighing in at 4 cylinders and sixteen valves. A 5-speed Standard Transaxle puts the power of the engine to the pavement. The has proven to be a popular configuration for the G20.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The G20 comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The dimensions of the G20 Base are 67.00 inches wide by 175.00 inches long. It sits 53.50 inches off the ground. It seats a standard five passengers, with 4 doors. The wheelbase of 100.40 allows for extra leg room for the rear passengers.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $23,800 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-high price. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sedan.

Fuel Efficiency

The 1996 G20's standard fuel system runs on gas. The fuel is regulated electronically, with a fuel-injected MFI style of design. The fuel capacity of the car is 15.90 gallons.

The G20 Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of 22 - 24 in-city driving and 28 - 32 when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid car, this was within normal parameters.

What We Think of the Infiniti G20

The 1996 model year was very successful for the Infiniti G20. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Base version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
