Getting 24 – 25 Miles a Gallon: The Mazda RX-7 for 1994

Mazda introduced the RX-7 Touring in late 1993 to regain its grip on the Coupe market. There are 3 trim levels for the RX-7 in 1994: . With two doors and spacious seating for two, the rear-wheel drive RX-7 makes a statement. There is plenty of competition in the Coupe market, including strong offerings from Honda.

1994 Mazda RX-7 Touring Specs

Mazda RX-7 Engine Specs: The RX-7 Touring comes outfitted with a 1.3 liter, 2-cylinder motor that uses 12 valves. The engine, manufactured by Mazda, is mated to a five-speed transmission by Mazda. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Mazda.

The fuel system for the 1994 RX-7 is a MPI system, running on gasoline . The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design.

The RX-7 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The listed retail price in 1994 (MSRP) was $36,500, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-low price. This price is on target the industry average price for a two-door Coupe.

The standard warranty period for the RX-7 is 60* months, or 50,000* miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the coupe market.

Fuel Efficiency

The 1994 RX-7 gets 24 - 25 miles/gallon on the highway and only 17 - 18 in the city. This is subpar for a coupe car.
