Our Review of the 2000 Infiniti G20 Base

There's been a lot of talk about the Infiniti G20 for 2000. As a leading car in the sedan market the G20 (and in this case specically the Base version) has maintained a high standard. The 4-door G20 is especially appealing to broad audience, making it a perfect car to help Infiniti as a brand in general.
2000 Infiniti G20 Base Specs
Infiniti G20 Engine Specs: The G20 Base comes outfitted with a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder motor that uses 16 valves. The engine, manufactured by Nissan, is mated to a four-speed transaxle by Jatco. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Infiniti.
The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The G20 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.
The fuel system for the 2000 G20 is a SFI system, running on gasoline . The fuel is regulated by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design.

The standard warranty period for the G20 is 48 months, or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the sedan market.
The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $21,395 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $19,422. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sedan.
MPG Ratings
The 2000 G20 gets 30 - 31 miles/gallon on the highway and only 23 - 24 in the city. This is below average for a sedan car.
In 1999 and 2000 the G20 Base was availble in the exterior colors of Aspen White Pearl, Autumn Bronze Pearl, Black Obsidian, Midnight Blue Pearl, Millennium Jade Pearl, Sandrock Beige Metallic, and Titanium Metallic. Additional options were available as special orders from the factory.
What We Think of the Infiniti G20
There are several reasons why the Infiniti G20 Base sold well in 2000. Mainly the increase in availability and a marked improvement in quality meant the buying public was more apt to choose a Infiniti, specifically a G20.
