The Infiniti G35 X for 2004: Improving on 2003

Infiniti G35

The 2004 Infiniti G35 X was introduced to compete in the sedan market. The X is a member of a series of two trim levels for the G35 which include X and Base. The four-door car with its all-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Infiniti. There is strong competition from vehicles from Kia.

Infiniti G35 Engine Specs

The G35 X is equipped with a Nissan 3.5 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a Jatco 5-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Infiniti.

The G35 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The 2004 G35's traditional fuel system runs on gas. The fuel is regulated electronically, with a fuel-injected multi-port fuel injection style of design. The fuel tank holds 20.00 gallons.

Vehicle Statistics

The dimensions of the G35 X are 69.00 inches wide by 186.50 inches long. It sits a comfortable 57.70 inches off the ground. It seats a standard five passengers, with 4 doors. The wheelbase of 112.20 allows for limited leg room for the backseat passengers.

There is a 60,000 mile, 48 month warranty with this vehicle, including a powertrain warranty of 70,000/72 miles/months. This is normal for this price range.

The listed retail price in 2004 (MSRP) was $32,100, with an invoice cost of $29,526. This price is above average of the industry average price for a four-door Sedan.

Fuel Efficiency

The 2004 G35 gets 24 miles/gallon on the highway and only 17 in the city. This is exceptional for a sedan car.

In 2003 and 2004 the G35 X was availble in the exterior colors of Black Obsidian, Brilliant Silver, Caribbean Blue, Desert Platinum, Diamond Graphite, Garnet Fire, Ivory Pearl, and Twilight Blue Pearl. Additional options were made available by the factory.

We Think...

The 2003 model began the promise of the Infiniti G35. The 2004 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Infiniti hopes that the G35 X will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
