The Nissan 350Z Base for 2003: Improving on 2002

A high point in the coupe market is the Nissan 350Z. In 2003 Nissan released an upgraded version of the 350Z with five versions: Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring, and Track. Sales for the 350Z, especially the 350Z Base, were brisk during 2003 and 2004. The improved reliability and the sporty styling were responsible for the sales boost.
Under the Hood
Nissan 350Z Engine Specs: The 350Z Base comes outfitted with a 3.5 liter, 6-cylinder motor that uses 24 valves. The engine, manufactured by Nissan, is mated to a six-speed transmission by Nissan. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Nissan.
Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The 350Z comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.
Vehicle Statistics
The 350Z is 169.40 inches long, 71.50 inches wide, and 51.90 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 104.30 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.
The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $26,370 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $24,663. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.
Fuel Efficiency
The fuel system for the 2003 350Z is a SFI design, using gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 20.00 gallons.
The 2003 350Z gets 26 miles/gallon on the highway and only 20 in the city. This is subpar for a coupe car.
We Think...
The 2002 model began the promise of the Nissan 350Z. The 2003 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Nissan hopes that the 350Z Base will continue to be a profitable vehicle.

Yawn… Not much has changed since 2002 with this coupe.
Thanks. I need to look more I guess. I need a new car this year.
I’m liking Hyundai over Nissan. It think it’s the difference in reliability. My first 350Z worked quite well, but the second one (a Base BTW) didn’t fare so well…
