Standard equipment in the 350Z for 2003 and 2004 includes the 3.5 liter engine by Nissan, weighing in at 6 cylinders and twenty four valves. A 6-speed Standard Transmission puts the power of the engine to the pavement. The has proven to be a popular configuration for the 350Z.

The 350Z uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The 350Z is 169.40 inches long, 71.50 inches wide, and 51.90 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 104.30 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the 350Z is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. There is also a warranty on the powertrain for 60 months or 60,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the coupe market.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $26,470 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $24,763. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 2004 350Z is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 20.00 gallons.

The 350Z Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of twenty in-city driving and twenty six when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid car, this was within normal parameters.

What We Think of the Nissan 350Z

There are several reasons why the Nissan 350Z Base sold well in 2004. Mainly the increase in availability and a marked improvement in quality meant the buying public was more apt to choose a Nissan, specifically a 350Z.

    I’m liking Hyundai over Nissan. It think it’s the difference in reliability. My first 350Z worked quite well, but the second one (a Base BTW) didn’t fare so well…
