The Infiniti G20 Base for 1993

A high point in the sedan market is the Infiniti G20. In 1993 Infiniti rolled out an upgraded version of the G20 with one versions: Base. Sales for the G20, especially the G20 Base, were brisk during 1993 and 1994. The improved reliability and the sporty styling were responsible for the increased interest.

Under the Hood

Infiniti G20 Engine Specs: The G20 Base comes outfitted with a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder motor that uses 16 valves. The engine, manufactured by Nissan, is mated to a four-speed transaxle by Nissan. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Infiniti.

The G20 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The G20 is 174.80 inches long, 66.70 inches wide, and 54.70 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 100.40 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $20,600 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-average price. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sedan.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 1993 G20 is a SFI design, using gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 15.90 gallons.

The G20 Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of 22 - 24 in-city driving and 29 - 32 when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid car, this was within normal parameters.

What We Think of the Infiniti G20

The 1993 model year was very successful for the Infiniti G20. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Base version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
